Roller garage doors
Roller garage doors does not require free space both in front of the garage and inside, so that it can be closed and opened freely. You can park your car directly in front of the gate, and also use the free space under the ceiling in the garage. The door can also be mounted in front of the entry opening, so you do not have to take it into account when designing lighting or roof construction. The gate profiles are made of high-quality corrosion-resistant aluminum, filled with polyurethane foam to minimize heat loss, and are standard equipped with a modern electric drive. The drive is located outside the console, which facilitates its maintenance. Starting and stopping the gate is particularly gentle and quiet, which protects not only the gate, but also our surroundings.
Segmentowe
These are connected segments guided on rolls along guides that open the gate vertically upwards – under the ceiling. Thanks to this solution, the space inside the garage is as large as possible, and besides, there is no need to block the free space in front of the garage, for free opening and closing the gate.
Sectional doors can be operated manually or automatically – in each of these cases the operation is simple and safe. They are adequately equipped with simple and reliable mechanical anti-burglary systems – lock and bolt.
They also provide good thermal and acoustic insulation, due to the fact that they are made of 40 mm thick sections filled with polyurethane foam, and a system of permanent seals is installed around the gate’s surface.
The durable gate must be made of suitably durable materials, that is why the garage door sections are made of galvanized steel sheets coated with polyester. The thickness of their walls is 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm. The filling of the section is a foam-free polyurethane foam layer providing good thermal and acoustic insulation. The thermal insulation index is in the range of 1.1 – 1.5 W / m2K and depends on, among others type of panels or type of glazing.
Swing gates
The type of garage doors used for years are swing gates. Garage swing gates are designed for use in residential buildings and utility rooms. They consist of a frame, sash and horizontal guides.
Usually made of galvanized trapezoidal sheet T-10 reinforced with steel profiles, they appear in vertical, horizontal and oblique layout. Doors of this type are more comfortable to operate than swing doors – they do not require so much free space in front of the gate, and thanks to the use of springs balancing their weight, opening does not require the use of force.
Before we decide on a specific model, it is worth considering a few options in the design of this type of gate (way of fixing the wing). In addition to the most popular solutions requiring the installation of inconvenient ceiling guides, we can easily find gates with an opening system without this drawback. You should also pay attention to the spring system. Currently, the gates produced by most manufacturers have a system of many springs, so that even after breaking one of them, the gate is still suitable for use. Hinged doors need a place to open and close not only in front of the garage but inside it. Before the garage is at least 50 cm free space, but the freedom to operate the gate will provide only 100 cm of space. Inside, you need a place under the ceiling where the gate is hidden. After opening the gate, the entry light decreases by about 20 cm in height and 25 cm in width, because the guides are fastened to the walls of the jamb. To get a larger entry light, you can choose a hinged gate mounted behind the opening. This will save 10 cm in width and 5 cm in height of the entrance in relation to the gate mounted in the light of the opening.
